View Full Version : Funny Stuff
It's funny when people make claims when they have no idea what they are talking about.
I found this TAP Death vid.
notice all the comments trying to call the vid bunk.

I see many obvious mistakes. At 1 point he holds out for a S to set up a tetris. He clearly could have used a T, and ends up having to lose his tetris. but considering the speed he is playing at, its easy to understand why. Still to me, this is not tetris.

The video is just the "Death 800" (aka "Tetris Japan Finals") video we know and love. It has to be over a decade old, and some people still haven't accepted it. I guess some people won't believe anything they don't see in person.
it's not so much the video, but all the people who are so sure it is a hoax that got me smiling on a boring day.
then there's the "He's not really that good" comments..
unsubstantiated claims at their finest.

Might the "not really that good" comments be from people who've seen Invisible Tetris GM or Shirase S13?
I'm calling BS on this one. If you watch the vertical lines on the monitor, it's going at a faster rate than normal on most video camera's or any sort of capture devices.
Not _discounting_ the ability of one player to actually play Tetris with that much speed and precision. I just personally see inconsistency with the so-called proof..
because he/she is playing on the very first level, he is forcing the blocks down fast himself, giving the illusion of turning the blocks after they have landed. as we all know you have a second to re-adjust the blocks on the slower levels.
i think the people making comments about this being BS are just ignorant. my ex girlfriend, who was asian, of course, used to play tetris at this speed bc that's how she felt comfortable playing it.
that video was crap, there are people way faster than him in a better tetris game
you guys obviously have never heard of tetrinet, just search on youtube and you'll see on the level those guys on there play
i cant stand a chance against them http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
I play that fast all the time, on tetris ds once, I got 1000 lines in singleplayer with the game starting at the fastest speed. It's not that hard on the newer tetris systems, I can do it easily on the DS and the 360, there are still lots of people who can school me online.
This strategy sucks too, no t-spins and he isn't building up for lots of b2b tetrii (Is that the plural)
Yeah, it's true that this was sped up. The screen refresh rate on the right side is running alot faster than it would be if it wasn't sped up.
everyone is sure it's fake. that or its not impressive because their "friend" is better.

Did anyone ever notice in Tengen Tetris how it would report your singles, doubles, triples, and tetris? It made me wonder if they thought tetris was plural and the singular was tetri.
might have thought moose moose

I wonder why you can tell someone there are exactly one million stars in this galaxy and they'll probably believe you, yet if someone told you that a fence still had wet paint on it you'd have to touch it to be sure.
