TAP Normal mode :
Ranking depends on score first.
TIPS :
-Combos are the best, combos with some TETRIS included in the chain.
-Tspin seem useless in TAP, which is different on EASY mode of TI.
-Try to optimize the moment where tetriminos bonus come, arrange the game in a way where these tetriminos won't make disapear to much your stack. Otherwise it is only blocks to destroy which leave...
-c_t --> fuck you ;)
-the next one who beats my score --> fuck you

Only tetris ofcourse coz you lose almost 1 sec by desintegration of line, at 90 and 190 you speed at maximum of the speed and wait the magic tetriminos to decrease all the stack..Have you some other technics??
I think the best Japan time is 2min58, it's what I seen on the web..
I don't know where did you find this time record,
but something like 2:40:00 would be a more appropriate estimation.
And the goal achievement on normal mode is focused on points. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif

Ok, I gave Normal a shot after ignoring it for months. My first game was 3:25, and a couple games later I got 3:04 with a score of 390 thousand. Which, in addition to being my personal record, was enough to beat the highscore from the game's previous owner! Coolness.

I don't think you understand. Nobody cares about time in Normal. It's all about score. You need lots of tetrises and combos to do well in this mode.
So when I asked for your record, I meant the score. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Build high (to maximise your level multiplier for scoring purposes) and go for combos that start with a tetris. Try building a field something like this and just try to keep your combo active with doubles after a tetris for mucho pointo. Rinse and repeat to 300.

what about the "bonus" blocks? anything specific? because when i clear four lines with the bonus block in them, i don't get any score for that, but the level rises by four.
colour_thief

It's best to clear singles with the item blocks because they give you no points. Also, you want your screen to make no lines after using the first item, and the screen to be as low as possible when using the second item.
Lines are also worth more if you placed that piece quickly, so you still need to play fast. There is also a bonus after reaching the end depending on your time.

If people actually want to compete in Normal then sure, I'd rename it or start something new. Unless I'm mistaken though, nobody cares about it, just like TGM+ mode.
ok so after hitting level=300 the game rolls the credits and goes into "slow 20g mode", is this section worth playing or not? or is this section totally score-worthless?
also please explain in detail how tgm2 combo works - general requirements for it, how to start it and how to um... "maintain" it?

I've not tested it, but I'm pretty sure it does. In principle anyway - it might not be exactly the same.
what about the "slow 20g mode" at the end of normal mode? it doesn't give any score, right?

I just did a test run (score 258184) and it doesn't seem to award you points after the bonus at 300.
finally made some improvements, got 318580 at the time of 4:16.
not bad.
have some questions though. well everybody knows that in TAP when you start combo with tetris and then continue it with consecutive line clears, first you hear clapping sfx (tetris) and then with each following line clear there is crowd cheering sfx. i noticed that when you do two tetrises in a row or say you do tetris-double-double-tetris, there is no cheering sfx on the second tetris. i was too lazy to check out the score in that conditions, so maybe someone here knows - does the game count these situations described above as normal combos or not. i mean they could just program it so the game considers two tetrises in a row as sort of "luck" and doesn't add extra points?
just curious. in TGM you'll get "wow" crowd sfx on the second tetris, and big points boost, maybe it's just the sound effect that's missing.
i hope i did get the message across, it's 9:45am here and i didn't get much sleep...
colour_thief
09-11-2007, 05:57 PM
It's still a combo, yes. And actually, it should give you an extra big "wow" sound effect if my memory is correct.
that's what i thought... it seems that TAP/TAP+ just do not have that "wow" sound effect. or maybe something's wrong with my mame/rom.

Please, try to add your best SCORE (and not time) to the new ranking list of the normal mode..
Score is the first parameter of this ranking, but you have to know the number of point dramaticaly depends of the time.. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Not quite like that, as TAP doesn't register t-spins, but yeah, that's the way to go.

A long first free column on the right, around 7-8 high, and a double free column the highest I can..
I must tell this game has been almost perfect, with only 2-3 singles or doubles lost..The rest was only big combos with Tetris Triples and Doubles..
I almost avoided the disparition of some square with the magic tetriminos at 100 and 200, and finished with almost an empty matrix at 300..
Look my video at 406000 if you did not see it already, and this evening I will submit an inp at 419000.. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

OK, I see. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
Played on 05/10/08. I have some times around 05:00, but the scores are far worse than this.
Also I'm wondering what the difference is between times and scores highlighted in gold and silver?
Is the score solely based on the amount of tetrises and other line clears one can make before reaching level 300 or is time also important somehow?
the score and time flashes white/yellow when you hit level 300, you just took the screen at that moment when it was "gold".
general tips while playing NORMAL is to have your field set up in a way that you have most of the well filled up, then when "I" piece appears, you do a tetris, and then (if possible) some 2 and 3 line clears, because NORMAL is purely SCORE attack type game (but with the element of a TIME attack).
you must also play clean and fast, because if your finishing time is less than five minutes, every second is worth of 1253 points, so if you do it in 3 minutes, you'll get huge SCORE bonus at the end.
when the first ITEM block comes, try using it with only 1-line clear and so that in effect you won't loose any lines.
when the second ITEM block comes, also use it with 1-line clear and your field must be as low as possible because there's a huge delay while it deletes the lines.
so there http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif there are some tips on playing this mode a few pages back too.

Thanks for the tips. I think my score is pretty decent then, considering I didn't manage to get a time bounus. I'll try to improve my time.

Actually, I just hadn't played the game for a long time. I've mainly been playing Texmaster Sudden, and I've moved to a different button layout since my last record as well. Now I'm just having some input issues, if I can resolve them I should be able to get my time down and my score up.
I'm not really that much of a competitive person, I mainly think I suck too much in most of the modes to even be worth including on the leaderboard, but I just so happen to be on the Normal mode leaderboard, so naturally I'm defending my position; it's bad enough as it is how far down I am, I don't want to drop any lower. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
Also, I noticed I didn't include the time in the screenshot, it was 04:15:25.

Wow that was a very harsh self-assessement. Do you have any idea how bad you made me feel just now! ^^
I don't really care all that much. I just don't want to be the last on any leaderboard. That's all! And so far I managed to do just that! ^^
Seeing your time I could well beat you again if I somehow manage to break well under 05:00, but of course that won't happen soon and by that time you will have sorted out your button problems and have a huge score.

I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. I would say it's logical though, I've been playing Tetris since November, and you've been playing since April, so I have a 6-month head start. Actually, you can intepret that as me being really bad, if I can only manage to outdo you by about 10.000 points, even with aformentioned head start. The conclusion here would be you learn faster than I do. And, my last score being in January, you could say I haven't improved very much the last 4 months either-- only 20.000 points improvement. I suppose I sound a bit like Amnesia now, setting high standards for myself, but consider it like this, I've been in touch with quite a few TC members since I joined, like colour_thief, jago, Digital, Rosti, and edo, who are all awesome players. After a while I just kind of adapted to them in the sense that I still consider myself a rookie when I see my own grades.
Right now, let me set in stone the checklist I have for when I stop considering myself a "Tetris n00b" (see signature):
- Get 300.000 points in TAP Normal mode
- Get S3 in TAP Master mode
- Pass level 370 in TAP Death mode (or Texmaster Sudden)
- Bonus for getting S5 in TGM1
- Bonus++ for being comfortable playing Shirase/Texmaster SuddenTi
At the time of writing the tally is:
- 220.000 points in TAP Normal
- 2 in TAP Master
- Level 265 in TAP Death
- S2 in TGM1
- Horribly uncomfortable playing SuddenTi (not even using hold cause of the speed)

Don't worry about me I was just kidding. And I'm a bigger Tetris n00b than you, that's for sure! ^^
Well you have to take into account that I have been almost only playing Tetris the last 6 or 7 weeks. I have played like a dozen of diffirent Tetris games. Not all as thoroughly as TDS, Tetris Advance, LockJaw and TGM.
But I feel I might have hit my limits for now. I need to make a choice on what to focus on. Playing too many version won't improve my play that much in a specific Tetris game. It's getting harder and harder to get better. Maybe I'm at that point where you found it difficult to up your game. I feel like I need to take some time off before being able to advance again.
During my finals which will start soon I'll take it very easy and have fun instead of trying to be competitive. And we'll see what happens during the summer.

Your goals are realistic. When do you hope to achieve what's mentioned in the checklist? Short term or long term?
I hope I can obtain the GM rank in TGM. When that happens I'll feel like I actually achieved something, but that's long term thinking of course. Maybe next year?
I see we're quite close in level. I haven't played TAP Death though. But I'm certain I'm not that good. Currently I can't play at all when the gravity is over 1G. I can only survive till about level 400 in TGM. Actually I start losing control at level 300.
And about the elite players on TC. Well by the time we get better. If that ever happens that is. They will have improved that much more and will be competing with the top Japanese players. So let us not worry about them! ^^
EDIT:
By the way I also want a TI!
i think you should focus on TGM for a fair amount of time, it will get you used to all the basics, the stacking, the moves, etc. it's the easiest one... then, of course TAP MASTER which is ALOT harder!!

Ai: http://www.tetrisconcept.com/wiki/index ... ement_list (http://www.tetrisconcept.com/wiki/index.php?title=TGM_Guide#Achievement_list)
I wouldn't say that list is 100% perfect, but I put a reasonable amount of thought and research into creating it, and I think it's a decent checklist to work through.
Ultimately I think you just need to find a balance between working on what you need to improve but also sticking to what you find enjoyable. If, for example, you vastly prefer Death over Master, then there's no reason why you should continually play Master to improve your sub-20G play. Once you've tired of Death you can always go back to Master anyway.
wow, that list is great actually! i'm right in the middle of it (have a few of TGM GMs but stuck on TAP S6s), except that i don't play DEATH seriously at all... and in that list DEATH GM is listed before MASTER GM, is it because it's a bit easier?
Well you have to take into account that I have been almost only playing Tetris the last 6 or 7 weeks. I have played like a dozen of diffirent Tetris games. Not all as thoroughly as TDS, Tetris Advance, LockJaw and TGM.
I binged a lot on Heboris when I first started, but now I've taken it down to an average of about 5 runs a week, mostly casual games of Texmaster Sudden.
Your goals are realistic. When do you hope to achieve what's mentioned in the checklist? Short term or long term?
Over the short term I'll be happy to improve at all, but let's say in 6 months I kind of want to at least have checked off the two items about Death 370 and getting comfortable with Shirase. In the coming time I'll want to shift back to Master after a long period of Death practice, and reach S1 in TAP.
I see we're quite close in level. I haven't played TAP Death though. But I'm certain I'm not that good. Currently I can't play at all when the gravity is over 1G. I can only survive till about level 400 in TGM. Actually I start losing control at level 300.
My advice would be to practice 20G first, and then bridge the gap between 0G and 20G. For many people the transition to 20G (usually called "sub-20G") is harder to overcome than 20G itself.
And about the elite players on TC. Well by the time we get better. If that ever happens that is. They will have improved that much more and will be competing with the top Japanese players. So let us not worry about them! ^^
Actually, I mentioned Jago, who is already in Japan playing against the likes of KAN and 777.

You don't need to clear the staff roll, and even then it isn't invisible.

But at the same time, you have to survive 500 levels of mind-crushing speed. I'd say they're on roughly equal footing.

Thanks for your advice! I'm working on some kind of play schedule. And I've played TGM a lot more. I tried TAP this weekend just because I was curious! ^^

I've seen the list before. I have already done the first four achievements. I'll keep working on progressing through that list as much as I can. And about high gravity training. Well once I get an S3 in TGM I'll start practicing 20G mode.
My advice would be to practice 20G first, and then bridge the gap between 0G and 20G. For many people the transition to 20G (usually called "sub-20G") is harder to overcome than 20G itself.
Right now I have trouble reacting to the speed. Sometimes I feel as if I'm too lazy to keep up. And the quick thinking needed for stacking properly is not yet available. Also I need to figure out how to stack under these circumstances. I'll analyze more videos to get it right.
Actually, I mentioned Jago, who is already in Japan playing against the likes of KAN and 777.
People actually go as far as to move to the TGM holy land? 777 is the guy from the extremely fast TGM run and I've seen Jago posting on the forum.
So are a lot of members in Japan or speaking Japanese? I've seen members link to Japanese website or even using them if I'm not wrong. I got interested in Japan a few years ago, but that has nothing to do with Tetris.
I'm also curious about the TAP BGM. After a while this guy starts repeating something. Is it just me or is he really saying "I'll kill him". I must be wrong, right? O.o

Gm in Master and Gm in Death could possibly depend on the player. It's really intense speed and survival versus consistency with Tetrises and the invisible staff roll.
I'm just going on being told there are more Death Gm's than Master ones.

Using the all-I piece cheat + garbage cheat, you'd hit 999,999 pretty quickly, especially since you get the 6x Normal Mode bonus for all line clears.

Yes, you'd easily max the score, especially with the x8 bravo bonus. The first combo alone gives you over 200,000 points, and that's the least valuable combo.

The "secret" is to get big combos, but you're probably already doing that. You just need to make the bigger. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif I made a youtube video playing 2-3 games to show my strategy:

What's the secret? :\ There's a huge gap between us in the 350k crowd and anyone over 400k.
I can clear the mode in about 3:30 to 3:40 now, but keep ending up with 330-345k points.

What keeps killing me is if you get an S and a Z in your combo after another, cutting your scoring short. Without hold, it's kind of up to luck (and randomizer management) that you can get those 6, 7, and 8-combos.
But hey, new record, by some 700 points.

Another 500 point increase, but a special note on this playthrough: I played 0-200 stacking like you would in Master mode, except I followed up with more line clears after tetrises if I could. Playing this way is faster so I can cash in on more time bonus. After I triggered the special piece at 205, I went combo style again.

Randomizer management tip: Perhaps you could try starting your combo with an S once you've recently seen a Z. They'll be in the history, and it's only about 1 out of 3.5% that you'll get something from history as your next piece.

Over 300.000 for the first time and I did it with style too. ^^ I can maybe even do better if I'm a little more lucky with the combos, but for now I'm more than satisfied with this result.
Time is not bad either, but still far from fast compared to the top players. I can play faster and get just under 4 minutes, but getting high combos is a little more difficult then.
rednefed you should be able to get over 400.000 easlily if you aim to get a high number of combos. Just stack as high as possible and try to get your way back down by comboing as much as possible. The higher the chain the better you will do. This is extremely important close to the end where you get a huge amount of points. You can get close or over 100.000 just at the end if you do it right and are a little lucky with the tetrominoes. Also make sure to get the stack as low as possible before you use the second special tetromino.

This is the best I could do in the few hours I played during the weekend. I am disappointed in myself as this is only a minor improvement compared to my previous personal best. At least I entered the top 10 on the leaderboard and I expect to get over 400.000 soon if I keep trying.
Speed is nowhere near what I can do in Texmaster Novice Mode, but I'm slowly getting better. I've had some time attack runs close to 03:40 when not comboing. There have been a few games where I believe I could have gotten over 400.000, but I always managed to screw up at some point. In Texmaster I feel in total control from beginning to end and I can do the up-down motion without a problem. In TAP on the other hand I lose control when things get a little faster over level 200. Doing the up-down motion then seems to slow me down and I make a lot of misdrops.
These are my score targets in Texmaster for very good games:
- level 100: between 60.000 and 100.000. 60.000 is good when the stack is still high going into the 100 to 200 section. I've managed to get 100.000 before level 100 a few times with a low stack after level 100. This is also possible in TAP, but it's more difficult to achieve.
- level 200: between 170.000 and 220.000. I can do it, but this happens a lot less than in Novice Mode.
- level 300: between 340.000 and 400.000.This isn't as easy as in Texmaster as I have difficulty keeping comboing. Not lucky enough most of the time and a lot of misdrops. I have at least a dozen games with a score of 450.000+ in Texmaster so it's possible. The 2 special pieces are no real problem if you now how to deal with them fast.
In Texmaster I finish most of my best runs in 03:40 which gives me a 100.000 time bonus in most cases. In TAP this bonus is limited to about 80.000 at the moment. So at the moment I can only achieve a score of about 300.000 without time bonus in TAP.
I have also been experimenting with the bonus pieces "Free Fall" and "Dell Even" to see if there's no secret game mechanic for bonus points. But I didn't find anything unfortunately.
Is it possible to fast forward through inp files?

Convincing comfirmation! ^^ I now believe getting 450000 is doable if keep playing. Look at that time! I wasted some time at level 299 because I thought another tetris would up my score a little more than just finishing as fast as possible. If I stack high and concentrate on clearing tetrises I can get sub 03:30 with scores around 350000 now:
[url=http://img25.imageshack.us/my.php?image=32843.png]
Still playing from time to time in the hopes a bravo will lift me over the 500000 mark. I once performed a comboing bravo at the start of the game and ended up with around 128000 before level 70. Too bad I got too excited an messed up soon after. So next time I get lucky hopefully it will be near the end of the game during a good run.

I can't believe it either Amnesia. The fact that I still haven't been able to get over 500000 that is. I've put a considerable amount of time in this mode compared to most other players. I don't think many players (if any at all) played this mode for almost 10 hours this year. I honestly believe a few players would have broken 500k long ago if they played as much as I do.
Last year only half a dozen players or so bothered to post in this thread so it's hard to keep playing this mode frequently. Thankfully there's rednefed reminding me every now and then to give it another try.
Ai tu viens de faire la plus grosse erreur de ta vie. Je te préviens ca va chier j'ai pas joué à ce mode depuis 2 ans !!
I see you haven't bothered playing for over 2 years since your record on January 8th 2008. I don't see how beating your score was a big mistake since you'll start playing again. Also if you know how I have been getting scores well above 500000 in Texmaster Novice this shouldn't come entirely as a surprise.

did you get a combo with two tetrises ?
I didn't think 500k was obtainable without an AC medal
A massive achievement rednefed and it's not that it was close either. Many congratulations from someone who spent a lot of time on this mode and sometimes nearly feeling like going crazy. I was secretely hoping I would be the first over the 500000 mark, but I haven't been playing much recently.
This is not to be underestimated as it takes a huge amount of skill, perseverance and luck. This performance is especially great since he broke 500k without having to rely on a bravo. Let's hope some other players and me can join you over the 500000 mark very soon. ^^

I've talked to a few Japanese players and they have told me there are plenty of examples where players didn't need to get ACs. In most cases the time was well under 4:20.

What's your average clear time? Stack high and take risks. If you try hard enough you'll get lucky every once in a while. Around 350000 shouldn't be too hard if you can finish the game in under 4 minutes.
I never replied to this, did I? I usually clear in around 3:30.
I'm sure I can get over 350k, but right now my priority is getting a green line in TAP Master.

Both times above are great if you can play that fast while combo stacking. Between 350k and 400k shouldn't be too hard. Breaking 400000 will probably take a while. I played a few games with clear times around 03:30 and was able to break 350k quite easily by clearing tetrises. Maybe you can give that a try as well until you find a way to combo more efficiently.
Congrats with the TAP Master green line Budster. ^^

Straight tetrising should land you around 330-375k depending on your clear time. A good run from me in 3:08:46 was worth 393k. Consider that a baseline to beat.
In TAP Normal there's no level x99 abuse possible so 7 tetrises is the maximum per section. A perfect game consisting of only tetrises and no bravo gets you around 255000 points. You need to efficiently take care of the special pieces though. With this in mind a clear time around 03:30 would award you about 365000 points. If you throw in a few small combos near the end and/or get a faster time, a score over 400000 is not that difficult. Some players in the top 10 have demonstrated this already. A spot in the top 5 isn’t possible without solid combo stacking or an AC.
The calculations above are from a long time ago, but I think they’re accurate. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOpULzypgQo)’s a time attack video from a while ago with 14 tetrises and almost breaking 400k.

I knew about this since I've tried about everything with the item blocks in order to uncover some hidden scoring mechanism. The same happens in the item modes. Where would you put the first piece until the second one appears? Stacking on top of it will shorten the combos you can make and you may lose time trying to clear it.

well, I was lucky enough to have a very high stack (almost top screen with the five first columns really higher than the others) and get the first item to be an O which I put at top of column 1-2 and that ended at the very bottom of the screen when the second item arrived

:(
Lucky and unlucky. Cover up the score on your screen if it helps.
By the way, I played a few games doing nothing but tetrises and optimizing for the item pieces. If you're doing combo stacking and don't have these scores at the following levels:
Level Time Score
100 1:05 58000
200 2:10 153000
299 3:15 267000
300 3:15 400000+
you should restart since you can do better by straight tetrising, and in fact you'll have lost time compared to tetrising because of all the line clear delay. That's how you get 400k. For 500k, you'll ideally want to be
Level Time Score
100 1:05 91000
200 2:10 225000
299 3:15 375000
300 3:15 500000+
or thereabouts, and it really really depends on luck in the last section. If a combo starting at level 260 or so contains 2 tetrises, you're in good shape. That's how I got all of mine (I've had plenty of games in the 470-485k range now).
Obviously, some players like CT are faster. Others are a bit slower.

Nice game DDRKirby(ISQ). The combo score before bonus is very good. If you play 20 seconds faster 450k will be within your reach.
Hereafter follows the ranking when only considering the combo score before the game shows your total score:
1 rednefed 383994
2 Ai 361226
3 colour_thief 345804
4 gila 331746
5 DDRKirby(ISQ) 331506
I didn't calculate some of rednefed's more recent scores over 500k so his score may be inaccurate. I'll update the ranking if you post your screenshots or scores and times rednefed.
Someone should teach me how to play this mode so I can claim my board's scores. <_>
rednefed's previous post is accurate. What you should do first Kitaru is play some time attack games with as many tetrises as possible. This will have the following (http://tetrisconcept.net/forum/showpost.html?p=41654&postcount=67) results if done correctly. Since you're faster than me I think you could easily get a score over 430k with straight tetrising.
Afterwards start to introduce short simple combos. Follow a tetris by a double or triple and try to build longer chains when you get better. Doing this in the last section will have a big effect on your score. Of course you times will be a little slower, but with practice the difference between time attack runs and combo games will be limited to about 15 to 20 seconds.
When you get the hang of it start stacking high in the first 8 columns (aim for an even surface) and leave the 9th column very low (I would say maximum 4 or 5 blocks high). The art is to bring down the stack to ground level by a string of doubles or higher clears. Repeat this process until the end of the game. You have to aim for 2 big combo chains per section. I usually have 5 or 6 in most games with scores over 450k.
For methods to combo effectively I would suggest you read the wiki entries on combos and skimming for a start. Though you will find little help there I'm afraid. It may be best to watch a few of ct's, Amnesia's or my videos to easier understand how to play. You will notice that my games are very clean compared to ct's and Amnesia's who focus more on speed.

There are also videos by Amnesia and a few of my Texmaster Novice games on Youtube that are worth watching. And how I wish there were videos of rednefed's 500k games. I'm sure I can also learn something from watching him in action.
Here's a video I uploaded just now with the Silver CO Bronze AC combo from my post before this one:
Ai TAP Normal Silver CO Bronze AC Combo; 181218 at Level 104 ^^
This short video illustrates the essence of the method most of us use when combo stacking. It has the low 9th colum (4 blocks high), 2 long combo strings (Silver CO in both cases) in one section and a bravo. When the top of your stack is even like at level 84 always go for the kill. In most cases it will be a futile effort, but if you're lucky it will give your score a huge boost. Just repeat this process until the end.
I have the most difficulty with the J and Z pieces. Nothing is more annoying than a Z followed by an S-piece and other sequences with S and Z pieces. While the T-piece is key when correcting messy situations. I try to initiate a combo sequence with the piece I receive after I get a Z or J-piece. When the Z-piece is followed by a J-piece, I start with the Z. That way it's unlikely those pieces will be dealt again soon afterwards. Easiest way to practice combo stacking is to aim for Silver CO or Gold CO medals in TAP Master. Try to consistently get Silver CO.
It may sound and look easy, but it's far from that unfortunately. Play a lot and be 3D (determined, dedicated and dynamic). Some final tips: you need some help from the randomizer to get long back-to-back combos so be patient; try to stack clean at all times because one misdrop can kill a game if you're not skilled like Amnesia or ct (it's okay to mess up at the end of the first section because the FREE FALL item will undo any mistakes); avoid situations where clearing the FREE FALL item causes a cascade that clears too many lines and for DEL EVEN only use it when the stack is low (if your stack is high when you get the item, put it at the top and first clear your way down). Maybe rednefed or someone else can add to this post.
I like what I see in your signature! ^^
EDIT:
Someone should create a mode similar to Combo Race (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYAE7ZSXTME) in NullpoMino for practice purposes.

Still not good enough for a board score, but I'll get it with practice.
Also, I can't play Tetris with Card Captor Sakura on my PlayStation yet because it has anti-mod. :<
The combo score is 308918 which isn't bad at all. It's a top 10 score on tc. I think you can skip the straight tetrising part, unless it's to improve your stacking speed. Play more often and you're bound to be lucky with a few long combos to boost your score. Every session I play I get a few scores around 450k. Getting around 475k is still a lot more difficult to do. It's still too hard for me to get 5/6 very long combo chains regularly to have a chance at breaking 500k without bravo.
What are the scores on the ranking? Too bad about Sakura.

I can record some texmaster replays. Or heboris ones, they actually have the extra pieces. But watching you play, I think you have the technique down (and your stacking is definitely faster), so it's all down to luck and randomizer.
