Is anyone's rating in the "find your rank" right? Mine is off by over a hundred points. I'm up to date on the nintendo leaderboard, though.


Perhaps he just isn't updating frequently?

It works for me...

The stats are updated every 24 hours from about 2am to 6am CST. At the moment, the top 10 doesn't work during that update period. I would update faster, except I have no interest in pissing Nintendo off (loading 2,000 pages a day might have that result if I'm not careful). The graphs do the same thing.


Let me know if you'd like to see any other features with this.

It boggles my mind that Nintendo can't do ths sort of thing. Their leaderboard is structured rather foolishly.



As for my rating- your site shows me at 7382. Two nights ago, I stopped playing at 7425. Then I played briefly last night and stopped at 7507. I got in a single game this morning to put me at 7510. If your site updated early this morning, I guess it pulled 7382 from the Nintendo leaderboard, which must have been behind in updating? I don't recall checking it last night, but I'm up to date on the Nintendo board now.

I suppose there's no reason I couldn't set it to update leaders more often than the rest of the field (perhaps the top 50)... Except that I removed the timestamps from everything cause i was doing it once every 24 hours. Guess I'll add that back in... Should be in by tomorrow

TGM-HoLiC isn't on the N intendo leaderboard anymore. It looks like there's a problem with 5 silver stars level 1 (9001-9250), where he probably should be showing up.

I don't "fail" to capture anything. At the moment, the leaderboard on blockstats (as well as all user stats) updates once per day, over a 4 hour period, early in the morning central time. I had a request made today to have the top 50 people update more frequent, and I'll do my best to honor that, but there's no way I could possibly capture every change unless:


1) Nintendo contacts me and kindly offers me access to their databases

2) Nintendo tells me that I can flood there server will thousands of requests per second (this is why I only have it updating daily... Because for me, it takes over 2000 page loads to capture everyone on a given day. Which I could do really fast, but would prefer Nintendo NOT to ban my ip address if I want to continue to provide this service)


I'll keep finding ways to help it improve though

yeah, i think the best thing that could happen is to show a top 50 or 100 or to maybe have a top 1000 separated into groups of 100... if that's not a huge problem.

My real current rating is 7140.


As of writing, it says my rank is 182nd. Which I also find a bit strange since the last time I looked I was something like 330th, and some time before that I was around 220th. Or is this fluctuation in rank (for more than 100 rank places) normal behavior?

Thanks Needle, Apparently, Nintendo does this thing when it's updating players that replaces there name with a placeholder. Kind of strange and I never noticed it in the code. The difference in pages was enough to stop the updater from continuing on it's marry way, so everywhere that it ran into this, often it didn't get to page 6 or 7.


I've modified the code and am running a test now, It's only doing the 7000's so if your not updated in the next hour or so, wait til tomorrow, and it should be correct.


Oh and as far as rank changing.. Yes, it should be constantly changing seeing as players are constantly moving up and down the latter... Right now the only thing set to update is the top 50 or so every 4 hours. The rest update daily.

A few things about the blockstats rank image.....


I realize there are constraints based on size, but


1) Can you get it to also show rating?


2) Can you get it to say Tetris DS instead of TDS?

For some reason I work fine on Blockstats, but i am nowhere to be seen on the hub at nintendowifi.com, don't know if this is solvable though as it isn't a Blockstats issue

Yes I can change it to say Tetris (It's used for idenification, not for a product, IE: the difference between say "This is your Tetris DS Rank" and "Check out my new Tetris Game System".


Yes I can get it to show your Tetris points as well (assuming that's what you wanted). I've considered also pulling the rank according to Nintendo (aka, not the one I'm calculating.) This would remove some of the variance from people changing their name every 24 hours. We'll have to see.


There has been a request for color change as well... I think that can be arranged.


Just to ask one more time: Has anyone figured out if it works with the Nintendo Forums? (IE: Could you put it in a Sig)

The problem with this is it's not my rank... Blockstats tells me that I'm ranked like 2,000 something not 40,000 yet the Gif still says 40,000. In fact I don't think that I've EVER been that low... I havn't even played online for like a weak, so it shouldn't be a time delay...

Caps matter -- the link in your sig suggests that you're using "X-Perts" as your wifi username; try "X-perts".

About the rank image- this is a minor detail, but I've noticed that if your rating is composed of wide enough digits, then the "ones" digit (the one on the far right for the mathematically impaired) gets cropped.


JJDB- can this be addressed in any way?
