New tetris player ^^

Hey everyone,

after having visited this forum for so long, i decided it is now time to register and introduce myself to the community ^^. Seems like i've already seen some people here like tepples on gbadev or kiwibonga (although its been a very long time http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif) ...


I said i'm a new tetris player but actually i've been playing tetris for some time now, its one of my favourite games ! http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif .

I first played tetris on an old computer (286 if i remember well), then played the gameboy version. After that i played Tetrinet. and i now play TDS & TGM2.


As for my skills, i'm not that good but not that bad i think http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif , i can beat marathon 20 on TDS each time i play, as for TAP i'm at ~450-500 in master mode and ~150-200 in DEATH mode...


Apart from that, i'm french and i'm a student in IT.

i like programming and own various videogame consoles (gp2x,xbox360,wii,nds,psp etc...)


my xbox live gamertag is : gonendo

(but i can't play it right now, my xbox360 suffered the ROD http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif and is still in reparation...)


i think that's it for my quick presentation.


I've recently been training on improving my stacking strategy (to one that doesn't create holes between lines http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif) .

I'll introduce myself, though my first post here was earlier today about getting Lockjaw to compile on linux.


I'm ryan, or online you can refer to me as d0nk. I'm a university student (university of michigan dearborn). I'm a CS major. I've played tetris for awhile, but am just really getting into the mechanics of the game now. I enjoy the game, its fun http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif.


I don't have any tgm2 levels worth mentioning yet. Still getting used to Arika's rotation system and not having the same kicks I rely on (too much) from SRS.


My time for 40 lines in LJ w/ SRS is 2:10 (avg guess). As you all can see, I'm not great :p

as for TAP i'm at ~450-500 in master mode

Then I re-read it.

500 in Master is still an extremely respectable level of skill though.
