Recording TGM3 videos?

I could've sworn I saw some VHS compression artifacts in one of the TGM3 videos I just watched on YouTube. Which raised the question: Does anybody know how the Japanese players on YouTube are recording their TGM3 videos? Do they record the video from an arcade cabinet's video output?

There are certain Game Centers in japan that have video recorders or dvd recorders hooked up to the arcade machines for that purpose..
