They don't have a "999 pieces" pieces mode.

LJ counts pieces. There's no gimmick for automatically ending the game after 999 pieces, but press Esc before 999 (or before 390-some lines) and take your score.

TOD did, but then it gets really fast above about 170 lines. It appears LJ doesn't yet, so I guess it's withdrawn.

But TOD has no stats. No way to tell how many pieces.

You must be thinking of the PC version. Here's a screenshot of the result screen in TOD for GBA:

But withdrawn anyway, as I'll create a separate topic for Lockjaw square mode challenges once I get 0.46 out. LJ's square mode is much closer to TNT than Cubestorm's is: no gravity gun, no partial pieces.
