How does soft/fast drop speed in TGM work?

  1. I hope this is the right place to post this. I've searched around for about half a day. I've even looked through some source code and couldn't put it together. So I've decided to make an account here and ask. Seems like a good place to get some good info like that and more.

If i understand the question right...

Pressing DOWN basically runs gravity at 1G... which is equivalent to Master mode from about level 250 to 299. Unless of course, gravity is already higher in which case it doesn't change gravity.

If the piece is in contact with the ground, it will lock instantly if you are holding DOWN, skipping the normal half-second lockdown delay. There is a small variance between games and modes if you just hold DOWN non-stop for multiple pieces. In some modes, you have to release DOWN and press it again to quick lock multiple pieces in a row, vs some modes where simply holding DOWN is a fast suicide.

  3. Oh, I see. So if the gravity is set to 1G or above, there's no hard drop but if it's below the piece drops at 1G.
