Jewelry Master Twinkle

  1. I hope you can get a free copy Ai. It is unfortunate that you can't directly buy it in your country.

  2. Have we confirmed whether or not overseas users can participate in the contest? I'm assuming they probably don't want to ship prize #2 outside of Japan though, haha.

Also, what exactly is the second prize anyhow? It says something along the lines of Net de Ron original "book card." Doing a Google image search for the text that says "book card" shows some 500 yen prepaid cards for buying books or something I guess? I don't think it is something we'd have a practical use for outside of Japan, anyhow -- just some Arika swag that is sorta neat.

It heard it. I seem to want you to put a Japanese translation if possible as for the application from foreign countries though it seems to be OK.

    :D

  4. That is so cool of Arika!

You people with X360s should buy the game! And the ones who already have, remember to rate it.

Very good news. I actually haven't tried getting the secret scenario yet. This is the extra motivation I needed. If don't win I'll just have to create a U.S. account and buy Tetris Splash and this.

Can you link to the prepaid card you found Kitaru? The only items related to the game I found online are a poster and a "tele cassete". Whatever that is. Someone asked on Mihara's blog about the second prize and apparently it's a gift that was originally sent to those who responded to a survey included with the game. I'm afraid you'll have to win the prize and tell us more about it yourself. Good luck everyone! ^^

I got the orange background a few moments ago, but I messed up. I paused the game and by the time I got my digital camera to take a picture a screen had popped up requesting to either quit or unlock the game. Still took a picture because part of the dialogue and background was visible. I guess I'll have to do it again just to be sure. ^^'

Unlocking the background isn't really easy even when you know how to do it. Patience, good gem stacking and a little bit of luck with the pieces are required. Again thanks for the video above Edo. ^^

    EDIT:

I've unlocked the secret scenario again earlier today and I've taken a good pic this time. I'll be sending an email later tonight. ^^

So the competition is over now, I hope those of you who wanted to enter, managed to do so; I wish you the best of luck!

I guess it's okay to share these with you now; I realise that many of you will have already seem them (although maybe not in Japanese), but perhaps our Japanese visitors will find them amusing:

I unlocked the background only twice. It's frustrating playing the demo because you need to restart the game after each run to prevent the above screen from appearing.

I used the same way of playing as shown in the video Edo shared above and the one he uploaded to youtube earlier today. Basically clearing clusters of white gems without destroying other coloured gems will do the trick I believe. In both cases I cleared 2 big white clusters before level 200 to obtain the hidden scenario. Not sure about the exact conditions because I haven't played much. Nowhere near as fast as Edo as you can see.

I sent an e-mail Friday evening. Good luck everyone! ^^

Concerning the contest. Any news anyone? Maybe someone knows more on when the winners will be announced? I also wonder why this isn't a Live Arcade game?

  10. Indie games are really quick and cheap to produce. By cheap, I mean they don't have to pay for Microsoft quality testing and age rating the game and translation into every language and probably other things we never hear about. This makes Indie games ideal for trying something new and experimental, something creative without being held back by red tape. And if it does well they can always throw more money behind it with a proper release.

  11. According to something I saw on Mihara's Twitter they already were. It said something to the effect of "the prizes have been sent out for the JMT contest" and "congratulations to the winners."

    Thanks for the explanation colour_thief.

I haven't received any message unfortunately. Well I did try... I'll look into buying the game in the near future. ^^

  13. Hmmmm?

  14. That's from Mihara's twitter just so you all know. We don't have any more information... but maybe it's an update to the game? That would be cool.

Sounds like a version for mobile phones and/or handhelds.

  16. A bit of googling brought up a result on a Japanese XBLA Indie game site, so I'm definitely putting my money on a patch.

  17. JMT Light is out now. It's 80 points. I haven't had time to check it out, but it sounds like an easier version of JMT (probably with fewer features, hence "light").

  18. I just bought JMT Light. There's a single mode (a recycled Hard girl on a carnival date). It has a low G speed curve that I believe maxes out a 1G, making it easier than Normal in the previous release. The game rules have been changed a little too. Now, whenever you enclose something, no matter if there is some synthesis or whatever going on in the enclosure, all enclosed gems will clear. It makes it a little easier to control things I guess. It simplifies learning the rules for sure. On the whole I'd say it probably makes survival easier, but score attack harder.

If there were more substantial changes I didn't notice them immediately. I played once to 999 getting over a million points, so I'm assuming the scoring system has been unchanged.
