  1. I have semester break this week and I do not have planned something yet. Im almost certainly available at the already stated times (18:00-22:00 CET) every day, maybe also earilier or later. If you want to get more specific, feel free to write me a message. :)

@TGGC: You can find the VOD's at the Twitch channels of Enchantress and me. I think they are saved for 2 weeks or something like that.

  2. I'm up for racing anyone, PM me if you want to set up a time. I was also thinking if we find a format that we think works well, we could try to do a double elimination tournament like the NES Zelda 2 tournament that just finished.

  3. I feel like weekly races a la aLttP would be cool

  4. I might be available tommorow around 19:00 CET

  5. I'd be down some time, but my schedule is kind of unpredictable. If any of y'all are ever watching my stream I'd probably be up for racing as long as I'm streaming, so feel free to drop by in chat and hit me up for a race!

  6. If you're alright with me using Mame I'd be down for TGM1 races sometime.

  7. Sounds good to me. Anyone else that wants to play with us? :)

No problem, I'm using MAME, too.

@MaryHadALittle wrote with me in a Twitch chat about this, and he thought that extra points would be good in TGM1, because some players are faster in the levels before 500 than when 20G starts. This requires a bunch of more testing. Let me know your opinions!

  8. i probably will sure
    what categories?

  9. I should meet with Tomek at around 7 so I won't catch everything but I'll participate after that if that's possible!

  10. Anything that I can finish is fine for me. :D
No problem, I'll be online for pretty much the whole evening. :)

  11. Me, @FreakyByte and @MaryHadALittle timed it and decided that during Death races, you must, upon topping out:
    • Hold ABC to open name entry
    • Do NOT hold Start to skip fade out (0.8 seconds holding, 2.6 w/o)
    • Enter a name (not sure what yet, we used AAA)
    • Press Start to skip code (like 28 seconds without lol)
Also, playing a certain amount of levels was accepted as opposed to a certain amount of sections when defining goals. As in, adding run totals up to a goal (we used 1500 levels) as opposed to a certain number of 100 level sections.

  12. Hi guys, it was really fun to play. Sry I had to leave in a hurry.

But better do not make it to complicated.

I'll probably only be able to join on weekends if you're doing it at around 1800-2200 CET; I'll still be at work considering that's somewhere in the late morning/early afternoon on my end. That said, if there's plans for a race this weekend (especially Sunday), I'd be interested in joining in.

Also, I'm curious to understand your reasoning for the list of bullet points for death mode. What is the opening name entry/not skipping fade out intended to accomplish?

  14. I'd like to know more about that, too. Having not been part of Death race, I just came in later for the run of Normal and thought that it felt natural to hold start after completion. However, the problematic part of all the menuing sections in those RTA is that really there's a convoluded way to make everything faster (such as having previously done a bunch of Normal runs, so that you don't trigger the name entry screen during the race) so I understand the idea of those decisions. Just curious.

  15. Name entry was decided to avoid pre recorded gameplay and add a bigger penalty for topping out. The start button thing is to add more time to do the calculations that are needed because of playing for levels rather than sections.

  16. I think TGM+ (to 500) or Master with items would be fun to race.
