  2. Mine is:

  3. Same as my username here.. Burbruee
My gold subscription expired a couple of days ago, though.

I've only tried Tetris Evo for the X360, and it didn't entertain me that much to be honest, and Splash isn't available in Europe. And I probably wouldn't play it that much anyway..
I mostly played NHL 09 when I had live gold, but even then it was only a couple of times. And well, when Halo 3, SFIV and GTA IV came out I played them online for the first week or so.
Then I went back to offline play.

Seriously, I'm not much for playing online, add me if you want but we probably won't be playing anything except maybe Halo 3. (because I seem to remember that you could play that one even with only xbox live silver, not sure if any other games supports this or if it still does)

  4. I'm colourthief on there!

I look forward to chasing all of your Live Arcade game scores once I get my X360 from Jago.

  5. My gamertag is "Billmaan", but I don't have a gold subscription.

  6. If for example Burbruee plays XBLA games (and other games for that matter), we can still "play him" in the sense of chasing the high scores he gets. ^^ If he's online when getting the scores, they'll be uploaded to the leaderboards. Xbox Live isn't only about playing each other in multiplayer.

  7. Benson G

    Benson G Unregistered

GT is in my sig. My mic is broken, so that kinda sucks.
SFIV is what I play most.

  8. True, I only have arcade demos though, which doesn't save the scores.
I don't have enough money at the moment to spend on games. [IMG]

OH, and some smilies on these boards are 404's, just noticed.

  9. Ai

Zenchi Zennou is my gamertag. No gold subscription at the moment and I don't play that frequently anymore.

  13. Hey guys, lets bump this with our random Xbox adventures. I want to hear what you guys are playing, what cool achievements you're getting, what awesome records you're setting, etc.

Currently I'm barely touching retail games (ignoring TGM ACE and Tetris Evolution). I've got Dead Rising, which is cool but I'm finding it a little repetitive. I've also got Resident Evil 5, but I'm holding out hope of finding a friend to play it with as the game is meant to be played cooperatively. If you guys have good suggestions for retail games please throw them my way. I don't especially care for the standard story driven FPS so that rules out a lot of them.

I'm getting a LOT of satisfaction from my arcade purchases though. So far I've got:

    Pac-Man Championship Edition (200/200)
    Tetris Splash (200/200)
    Geometry Wars 2 (200/200)
    Geometry Wars (130?/200)
    Hexic (150/200)

I'm actively playing to work towards "completing" the last two. You would not believe the depth there is to Hexic... It's not the shitty Bejewelled clone that the first impression might imply. I'm not playing it at a high level yet, but I'll keep coming back until I am.

I still play all the rest too, because they are all really awesome games. Tetris Splash is the greatest online versus tetris game I've ever played. Why haven't people praised it more? IRS, IHS, fast DAS, t-spin and combo garbage, it's like TDS but faster and better. I've sunk probably 15 hours into the game already and I can t-spin like a champ. If I ever play against Triforce again it'll be even more one sided.

I've just picked up Lode Runner and Shadow Complex. I haven't played the latter yet, but Lode Runner is AMAZING. It's an intensely cerebral action game, I haven't had to think this much playing an action game in a long time. The puzzles are so hard, most people will never complete them all. Which is just the way I like it! I highly recommend this game. It's even got special cooperative puzzles that require 2 players to complete. It has a puzzle editor and you can share levels online... Some endless modes... Even online versus, though I'm not sure how that works.

  14. If the same people made Tetris Splash and Tetris Party, how come they're so different?

  15. I believe Splash was made by Blue Planet Software, or at least some western developer. The reason it's so good (IRS etc) is in large part because caffeine gave them suggestions during its development. Tetris Party was made by Hudson, a Japanese company, and they were targetting the game at a casual audience.

It's sad because if you look around at reviews most reviewers say Splash is nothing special because it's "just (extremely well polished/playable/addictive) tetris", but perceive Party as being better because of all the "exciting new (gimmick) modes".

  16. Would love to try that one.. But not available in Europe. >:(

Suggestions.. I'm not a big fan of the general FPS games either, but Call of Duty 4 is decent and even I liked it.

But mostly I'm looking forward to a game coming to Xbox Live this winter. My favorite game of ALL TIME, from the Nintendo 64: Perfect Dark

Actually, I still play the original to this day, started playing again ~3 weeks ago. (mostly speedrunning)
I bought an s-video cable for the n64 last week so I would get a sharper picture than with composite. It was worth it for sure, huge difference. Also, I plan to stream (live) when I run through the original game soon. And perhaps again when the upgraded xbox live version comes out this winter with better graphics, full 60 fps and better controls (maybe? Personally I love the n64 controller and think it's one of the best controllers - when it's new)

I'm not sure how you feel about racing games, but personally I love them. GRID is really good, you should get the demo at least and try it out. And maybe DiRT 2 demo as well, came out last week.

I'm a huge fan of hockey, having played or owned a hockey game every year since 1992 pretty much... I might get two games this year, EA and 2K. not sure. But I'm usually alone on gaming forums when it comes to being a hockey addict.

Last, I was a HUGE fan of Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast/PC/Gamecube (and I still play Blue Burst online from time to time on the Schthack server) so I had to get Phantasy Star Universe for the Xbox 360 to see how it was. I didn't have very high expectations since I've played PSO for so many years, and also I didn't have any plans to play online since I dislike paying a monthly fee in order to play a game online. I just wanted the offline RPG experience this time around.
And it's actually a pretty decent game if you like Phantasy Star. As an RPG it doesn't have the greatest story, it's far from a "Final Fantasy". But the battle system is still great, just as it was in PSO. No turn-based crap.

  17. I know Meroigo and Edo have it. Maybe they can explain how?

  18. I'd really like a 360, but mostly for the arcade games. I'm not a fan of console FPS, would much rather play them on PC.

Have you looked into N+? The freeware game N on PC is one of my favorites when it comes to puzzle platforming, and the puzzles I'm sure are just as difficult as some of the PC levels. I love the Lode Runner series a lot (My favorite when it comes to the genre), and one of N's influences is Lode Runner, so I definitely recommend it if you are loving up Lode Runner.

  19. Apparently Edo got Tetris Splash normally. So the UK seems to have the game in their marketplace, but not Sweden.

I got Tetris Splash in this way: created an American Xbox Live account (Google knows how to), asked someone living in America to go purchase an 1600 MS Points code in his local GameStop, got the code from him, logged on to my American Xbox Live account, got the MS points with the code and then simply purchased Tetris Splash on the American Marketplace.

    CT:

Among retail, i like Crackdown. It's a very fun game that's not gotten the attention it deserves. Sure, you don't like FPS, but you should get Portal, it's on the very-good-priced The Orange Box (among four other games), and on XBLA. Also, Call of Duty 4 has a reaaally nice campaign, best I've seen in an FPS, and fun multiplayer. Oh, btw, I NEVER play FPSes, these are almost the only one's I've bought. Also, Dead Space is high quality. Maybe you'll like Mirror's Edge too, it's very unique, it can last many many hours if you're into speedrunning too.

    Among XBLA....

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers - Magic is fun as hell. :p This game is pretty fun and last for a while. ^^
Triggerheart Exelica - Shmup! 'Nuff said. xD I've had alot of fun with this game!
Ikaruga - I heard you played this alot. Maybe you wanna play it with HD and leaderboards. :p
Bionic Commando: Rearmed - Great remake of the NES game. Very retro and challenging.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - Best Castlevania.
Marble Blast Ultra - BEST DEAL ON THE MARKETPLACE. Last time i checked, it cost only 500 MS Points! It's a darn steal, it's veeeery fun, one of the best XBLA games...
GripShift - When I play this, I get the feeling of Trackmania and Marble Blast Ultra. It's a fun MBU:ish TM:ish game. XD
Castle Crashers - It was pretty fun when i played it.
Braid - Very original and a really nice experience.
N+ - what the one above me said.

Meh, you can at least just download the demo of all these. ;P

  20. Mine is lorddoom4.
I play mostly Blazblue right now, with some Raiden Fighters Aces, and since I'll be getting Raiden IV on the 8th, I will play the hell out of that one.
