Either official or unofficial, what is your personal favourite game. If there's a notable one I've missed, please say and I'll add it in. Personally, I think the TGM series wins hands down. It's challenging, but not because of the restrictions on the gameplay. All future Tetris games should contain some sort of Master and Death modes (I forget the names of the Ti equivalents), or they just won't be proper Tetris games.
OBJECTION!! topic creator is clearly biased. tetris ds is obviously what u want to vote for! why is "henks mom" not an option?
um, i haven't played any of the TGM games yet so i'm going with it's clone, Heboris . (Hoping somebody could maybe send me the files through sendfile or something, gfish_321@yahoo.com ) Wink*
Since both Heboris and LJ simulate other games and their mechanics, it's only fair that I don't include them in my choices. My choice would then be the TGM series for the carefully trimmed gameplay and innovations.
Heboris was included because, basically, it's probably the most extensive game out there. That said, from what I've gathered, it's success is only really from copying existing games. It's basically a TGM fangame. Lockjaw was included because it is at least unique in the sense that it is customisable. It isn't purely a collection of cloned Tetris modes.
I like "Tetris" in general to much to claim one as my favorite. I get equal satisfaction from playing all games listed. Unless I am playing badly................ - Jono
thanks for the impossible question Rosti i have to say Tetris Online Japan because it's what i'm playing now.
"The Best Tetris Game?" That would be Tetris ... Attack. (or at least that's what they'd say at PuzzleLeagueConcept) But unlike Halo, TGM doesn't have an industrial band who years ago released albums and singles with the same name (e.g. halo two and halo three) so that we can make fun of the game for copying the name. [Renamed to match poll contents -- MOD]
I myself voted for LockJaw. Tetris Worlds really sucked <IMHO> (the PC version), and I've never played the GBA version of it. Also, I've never owned a GameBoy (until recently, although I still don't have any Tetris carts. for it), but have played Tetris and Tetris DX within an emulator. As far as Tetris DX, from my experience with the EMUs, that would have been high on my list of favs (along with the old "Tetris Classic", simply for sentimental value). Tetris DX seems to be quite a well-rounded game <IMO> with a lot of features and various gameplay modes, and quite simply, it just "feels" good to me. Like I said, I've never played the *real* version of Tetris DX on a GB/GBC (I was never into the GB thing back in it's hay-day), but <IMHO> it's one of the best all-around Tetris games created.
