    Hello,

let me introduce myself, the name's Fevy.
I used to play Tetris since my 4 years old, stopped to play until last year (silly me... should never had stopped).

So, I have some questions about the Tetris Grand Master Ace version, on the xbox360.
As a resident of Europe, it's fairly hard to me to get my hands on a TGM version of Tetris.
I actually managed to get that homebrew on my nDS, which I love. (yet, it's a bit hard at fist)

I saw some videos of the Ace version, what's the deal about the game?
Is it as good as the originals? I read that the game is easier.

Would it be a good idea to buy it for my xbox360 (I have the japanese one...)?
I'm a bit puzzeled about it. I took a look at the wiki, but it isn't really giving me an advice...

Well, thanks already for the help.

  2. I've heard it's not too great, but since you already have the Japanese Xbox, why not? You probably won't see anyone online, but at least you can play some legit TGM.

  3. If you already have a Japanese X360 I would recommend getting this game. It's a disapointing TGM game, but still quite a good Tetris game. As long as you don't go into it expecting modes like the arcade games you'll enjoy yourself. The Russian remixes and the various roads are good times. [IMG]

    So...

What about this video here, then?
Is it the TG3 arcade or 360 one?
It looks more like the arcade to me, it's just to be sure, but whatever...

Even if this TGMA isn't the perfect one, it's still a good one.
    I'll take it then!

Thanks a lot for the advice.

I cant read Japanese, but as I see it it is a TGM3 replay, but TGM Ace is announced in it.

Yeah, it's a video of Ti posted to promote/hype up the upcoming release of ACE.

  7. The music in ACE is pretty good, but the fastest the game gets doesn't come anywhere near TAP or Ti. (I can clear Another 2 a fair percentage of the time on a certain clone)
But... it's TGM! Should be pretty cheap to buy since TGMA was a launch title.

And grab a friend to play doubles.

    I must agree here...
It's why I was a bit confused about the video.
    But it's okay.

I guess that TGM is good to get used to the TGMs, but at a slower level.
    It's good to begin with.

  10. I don't think it's been mentioned, but you need a Gold Live account in order to unlock most of this game's content. And also to play that content. Yes, this game's best singleplayer content is only accessible to people who pay Microsoft a monthly fee. [IMG]

    Oh! Now that's dissapointing...

Do you have the game, Colour_thief?
I'm just wondering if subscribing one month to MS Live is enough to unlock it all...
... or will I have to pay until I stop playing the game?

  12. I don't own it personally but I've played through all the modes at a friend's. When you unlock stuff online, some of it is then available offline. However, the very best content (the roads) is only available online, even though it's single player. Also, you need to be able to read basic Japanese instructions off the screen during gameplay in order to play the roads. Alternatively you can just memorize the sequence of goals the game gives you from a translation, but either way it's an extra barrier to enjoyment. The instructions are stuff like "a single, double, triple, and tetris" and whatnot. A lot of it can be worked out based on context, but I needed jago to translate a few for me.

I don't know your skill level, but I know it would take me a weekend or two to unlock everything. If you're newish to TGM it would definitely challenge you for at least a month. The highest speeds really are still challenging, so unless you can already play 2 pieces per second already I would be very surprised to see you complete those hardest challenges within a month.

Hmmm... okay. It's a weird option...
Japanese shouldn't be the biggest problem.

So basicly, this TGM is more about "completing challenges" if I have to read instructions?

About my skill, I just managed to finish 20G for the first time today (... I actually lost at Invisible Tetris part).

TGMA should still be good for me.
Anyway, Tetris is just like piano, training every day.
    Which is good!

Thanks for all the help, again.
