http://belogic.com/uzebox/ Check out the Tetris video. How about everybody make it for this system, so nobody has to worry about copyright infringement stuff!
That Megatris is the coolest Tetris I've seen in a while. Pity it uses SRS. PetitPrince, as our resident ARS missionary, could you convert them to the ways of the ARS?
Capabilities look comparable to the NES. The CPU runs at NTSC color frequency times 8. But a PPU design based on one interrupt per pixel looks sort of ouch; I wonder how much time is spent saving registers, computing a pixel, and restoring registers to get back to the main program. And I'm pretty sure it mixes sound during horizontal blanking, which occurs at 15.7 kHz, and outputs PWM audio using a counter that probably increments after every pixel. From the "description" page: "Although you can't buy the connectors anywhere, the best source is buying an old broken NES from eBay." So if you're going to wire-wrap something, why not just get a stock NES and solder together an NES Game Pak with Tetramino on it? From "tutorials": "A MIDI capable music program like Sonar, Cubase or open source equivalents" yet the author doesn't recommend an open-source equivalent.
