a bit offtopic, but a question: what kind of background music would you like to have in a tetris game (besides classic tetris tunes) ? a) some tunes that are pushing , e.g. fast , melodic techno? (for example: * http://www.archive.org/details/Alternar ... Connection japan style techno - quite cool - try song "fly") * http://www.archive.org/details/mtk152 ( try highland glass) b) soothing smooth ambient tunes because tetris itselfs is already hektic enough and a short tetris game is nice and relaxing? * http://www.archive.org/details/tonAtom.001 * c) pure electronic (vangelis, tangerine dream style) * http://www.archive.org/details/Copter_-_Compilation_01 d) rocky, heavy metal * http://odeo.com/audio/1077955/view (hehe - this is a little surprise you must hear that!!!!) e) not listed? please tell me what you would like!
Right. Watch the TAP master, TAP death, TGM3 master, and TGM3 shirase videos to see how Arika handles it.
It also depends on my mood. But some music is nearly always better than no music, for me. That said, a no music option would be nice, because I sometimes like to play while listening to another source of music...
Techno, trance, etc. is my pick. The genre gives off a distinctive overall futuristic vibe to the listener. Tetris nowdays have evolved into a fast-paced game, especially 20g. In my opinion, the game demands a fresh new perspective on music. I believe the music in TAP and Ti are extremely fitting. The tunes in Death sub 500 are too cool. Ti's soundtrack is just too godly to elaborate on.
I enjoy TGM's music much more. Electronic, robotic feel to it. But as the above posters said, gravity effect especially in the 20G field, like how TAP changes it's music once it hits 500/20G. Also the background rocks.
Which one? TGM2/3's music appears to be the same style as DDR techno. I can pick out which song was based on "Trip Machine", which song was based on "PARANOiA", and which song was based on "Afronova".
Ditto. Sounds like an observation one might make with a lack of points of reference. He has done music for IIDX though.
Spanish progressive, hardcore and makina..? I particulary love the theme at 800-900 in shirase, which is a kind of old russian music (with guitar), during ~10sec between 2 part of hardcore.
